AWL-Techniek now a member of the Robotic Industries Association

23 April 2013

Harderwijk, March 2013 - AWL-Techniek recently became a member of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA). This is an international organisation that fully focuses on promoting the robotic industry and increasing the scale of robotisation. As many of the machines built by AWL use robots, becoming a member was merely a matter of course.

For AWL, membership of the RIA offers the possibility to network on a global scale, to exchange information, monitor trends and to partner up with others. There is still a lot to gain, especially in the field of standardisation. Whereas in Europe we are used to working according to certain standards and norms such as ISO, they are not known nor generally adopted in America and Asia. This can lead to awkward situations at times. Van 't Hof explains: "By entering into a dialogue with each other and discussing the importance of a global standard, we may be able to create more harmony."

Robotisation will be increasingly prominent in the future, especially because of the ageing population and the cost of labour. "By being actively involved and using the RIA now, we're even better prepared for the future, enabling us to better anticipate new trends and developments. That way, we will ensure our clients remain ahead of the rest", Van 't Hof concludes.
